This is an architectural renewal project located on an approximately 2.7acre land at Anak Bukit, Alor Setar. This project envisions the transformation of an old rice mill into a dynamic pickleball and community hub, seamlessly blending heritage with modern functionality. By embracing the raw beauty of the existing structure, the design retains its industrial authenticity, exposing its original framework and textures.

Rather than imposing new materials that mask its history, the intervention is intentionally light and adaptable. Retail spaces will be defined using plywood finishes, offering a warm yet understated contrast to the rugged backdrop. Loose, flexible furniture pieces will be introduced to foster an inviting and communal atmosphere, allowing spaces to be easily reconfigured for various activities.
The result is an organic, unpretentious space that celebrates the honesty of materials, promotes social engagement, and breathes new life into a once-industrial setting—creating a hub where sports, leisure, and community spirit come together.
